A large-scale study from the Josephson Institute, a Los Angeles-based ethics institute, surveyed nearly 30,000 students nationwide and found that dishonesty is on the rise.
Here's a breakdown of the dishonest habits students admitted to: Admitted to stealing from a store within the last year: Boys: 35% Girls: 26% Admitted to stealing from a friend: Boys: 26% Girls: 14% Has lied to save money: Boys: 49% Girls: 36% Has lied to a parent about something significant: Boys and girls: 83% Has cheated on a test: Boys and girls in 2006: 60% Boys and girls in 2008: 64% Used the Internet to plagiarize an assignment: Boys: 33% Girls: 36% ![]() |
