I want to sign Jack up for Kindermusik this summer. Anyone else thinking of doing it? Do you know when it starts?
We went in the fall and, though Jack was pretty small, I think he enjoyed it.
Now that he's dancing all around and really loving music, I can't wait to see how he reacts to it.

We go at the college & the current classes are ongoing through May.
But we've been going since we moved here, and I can say beyond any doubt that it's the best thing we've done for our LO. He loves it & so do we!
We'll be out of town too much to go this summer, though, so we're not registering again until fall. It will be the first semester we've skipped since fall 2006, and I'll really miss it Frowner!
Did you go through UA, Kristi? I think they'll start early registration (for summer) in May. But I can ask when we go to class next Monday, if you want.

Yep, over at UA.
We did the one about birds for the newborns and little bitty ones and it was awesome. Now I want to enroll him in the 18 month class. And I know Jack will love it even more now that he's old enough to really participate.
Yeah, if you don't mind asking that would be great! Thanks!

My hubby took our LO the last two times (have I told y'all I have shingles?! It's contagious, so I haven't been anywhere much lately ...), and he says the teacher's already mentioned summer registration. But he doesn't pay much attention to those things, so I'll ask next week.
My son was about 18 mos when we started, and it was the ideal age for us too, so I know Jack will get a lot out of it now!

Kristi - I JUST yesterday got the kindermusik flyer in my campus mailbox.

We want to sign Amelia up to. So far though it looks like they are only offering classes for June 2-July 1. I was hoping to take a July class b/c we'll be traveling a lot in June.

Anyway, the 18month-3 year old clas runs June 2-July 1, and is $115.

Times available are:

Mondays 10:15am or 6pm or
Tuesday 10:15 am

Those are for Creatures-Ocean (it doesn't give a description)

OR
Mondays 4:30pm or Tuesdays 6pm for Zoo Train.

Can anyone tell me the difference between the two classes?

The only difference is the theme, I'm pretty sure. And the times and dates, of course.

Thanks!

An update - I just got off the phone with them.

DistractedMom is right - the diff is the themes. With the train one, they start off class singing a song about getting on a train, and the songs are about zoo animals, etc.

Anyway, the lady said they might be able to open up additional classes too - maybe a mid-June to mid-July, etc. They seem very flexible based on the amount of interest.

Woohoo!!!

Thanks for all the info, ladies!
We are traveling for 2 weeks in June. And we'll be gone a week over July 4th. But it goes for 8-10 weeks, right? Hmmm. I'll have to see the exact times but it looks like we'd miss 3 weeks. That sucks.

That's why we're waiting for fall this year, Kristi.
We're going to Dothan for my Eldest son's high school graduation in June, to Gulf Shores at the end of that month through the beginning of July, and back to my parents' for about two weeks in August, so we're bound to miss a good percentage of the summer session (which is always a lot shorter than the regular session, anyway). So it just would not be worth the money for us.

We've usually done the summer sessions, and they have great options for older kids too, like group piano or guitar camp and a musical theater camp. But it is hard if you're traveling a good bit during the summer.

Just to clarify, Kristi, the summer session (as it stands now) is only for 4 weeks - from June 2-July 1. Maybe if they open up another session, that will work better for your vacation schedule.

My daughter is 18 months old and we have been doing Kindermusik since she was 8 months old. It is wonderful and Laura the teacher is great at (UA) she has just put out the Fall schedule.

Oh, thanks for telling me. I want to sign up for the fall. Yes, Laura is great. I look forward to going again. Especially now that Jack is older. I think he's going to love it even more. My son is 19 months so maybe we'll be in the same class.
And...welcome, Snashmoore! Smiler

Kristi - do you have any other info on the schedule, or is it posted online anywhere? I'd love to get Amelia into this as well, depending on if I can make the schedule work.

We're all on the UA campus, so I can make it my lunch break to take her over there, or have DH do it.

How fun if a few of us were in the same class!
