Does anyone have any boys/girls that are playing baseball now? If so, where are they playing at (if you dont mind me asking)?

My son plays 5/6 (coach pitch) at Taylorville. How many practices/games do you have? We have about 3-4 games per week with 1 practice and I just feel like we have too many and it is taking over my life and I was just wondering if that was normal for every kid that played baseball...I am glad that it is fixing to end, my son loves it but it is hard on me since I have the baby....

WOW!!! Thats alot.....We practice once a week, when the season first started we practiced twice a week, you know until we started playing games. And have one game a week. My son also loves it, but it would be hard with a baby to care for also.

Both of my boys play baseball at Northside. My husband coaches and I am the team mom for our 4yr olds T-ball team and my 8 yr. old plays machine pitch plus I also have a 8 month old baby girl. I too sometimes feel like baseball is taking over our lives! Between both of them we are at the ball park every night except Wed., Fri. and of course Sun. On Sat. we usually at the ball park most of the day, because both of them have games. It is very hard when you have a baby, but Maddie Klaire always does good, but when we get home she is ready to be put down so that she can roll, crawl and play.

My 7yo son plays machine-pitch baseball for with the Y. We have two games per week most weeks, and all are during the week, either at 5:30 or at 7:00. The late games are very difficult, with him often not getting to bed until well after 10:00. We practice once or twice a week most weeks, and yes I feel like baseball has taken over our lives! And it won't be over as soon as the schedule reflects...there's still tournament.

Darn it!!! That is so true.....I didn't think about the tournaments. And here I was getting excited about it ending. How long do the tournaments last?

I think it totally depends on the league. The Y has two days slated for tournament, but with make-up games that will have to be played after being rained out, that might get pushed later and possibly longer. Plus, i have heard, but not confirmed, that they do All-Stars beginning with machine-pitch, so that's another story all in itself if you have a child chosen for All-Stars.

3Blessings, I'm curious. What does the "team mom" do? Sounds like fun!

Kristi, team mom is basically a mom on the team that handles taking up money for anything extra (shirts for parents, hats etc...)that was not included in the registration fee. For our team I made up practice/game schedules on the computer and I also did a refreshment schedule. I have also had to line up parents to work the concession stands, but i basically keep my DH organized since he is the coach.LOL! I have really enjoyed doing it.

My family and I just relocated to Northport from the Ocean Springs/Biloxi area, and I want to get my 4 year old son (5 in July) involved in T-ball again. He was already part of a fall-ball team down there, but couldn't participate in the spring league because we were in the process of moving. Could y'all give me specific info on some leagues in this area, maybe even websites, so that I can get him signed up?

The two that I know about are the Y and Kentuck (Warrior). I believe that Warrior does fall ball but I don't think the Y does.
Here are some links.
