Those questions were too vague. Like washing the knife between products: between chicken and lettuce, yes; between onions and lettuce, no.

I did "pretty good", too.


When I was growing up, I never knew that Mayonnaise needed refrigeration. My mother and grandmother always kept in on the shelf. It was not until I was probably a teen and actually read the label one day that I noticed "Keep Refrigerated." Remember, this is Mayo, on a shelf, in Alabama, in the summer!!! I have never had food poisioning. Maybe I built up an immunity. LOL Of course, I DO keep it in the frige now... and my mother does, too.

One thing to note, though. We had large families and a jar of mayo didn't last all that long--maybe a week. Lots of sandwiches.
