I'd love to hear what you've done with your child/baby's room.

I'll start.
When Jack was born we lived in a different house and my DH painted the Green Monster (scoreboard at Fenway Park) on his wall. It was interactive, you could change the score and everything. Pretty cool. But we moved when Jack was just 6 months old so, sadly, he never got to appreciate it. The walls were green and tan like a baseball park. His bedding is green with bears and I did baseball bear accents around the room.

Now that we've moved we've decided not to recreate the Green Monster. Our son's room was already painted light blue with fluffy white clouds and the bottom half of his room was the exact same green as his bedding. We liked it so we kept it. So now he's got a cloud/baseball bear room.

I am close to tossing his changing table for a book case. And I want to find a baseball throw rug for the middle of the room. Anyone see one of those - just a big ole baseball?

Our son's nursery had kind of a folksy, old-fashioned "storybook" theme going on. We had prints from old Peter Rabbit stories on the wall, along with some covers from old kids' books.
We also collected a bunch of antique toys (an old bank, some big old & really heavy toy cars as well as some old tin stuff & old stuffed animals. Even some old dolls).
It was beautiful, & I miss it. Frowner

It looks great now, though, too.
We changed the theme to "transportation" when he was about two, and it might be even better than the nursery. We've got a big map of the US covering one whole wall, an airplane mobile over his bed, and a working train running around the top of his wall. I should post pix - it's really kinda awesome!

My LOs room right now is done in the Classic Pooh. Most of the decor is from when I was a baby. My nursery was classic pooh too! My mom saved the lamp and pictures that were on the walls. We purchased the bedding and the rest of the room decorations. Now that he is bigger we are redoing his room in a jungle them. He LOVE lions, monkeys and elephants. I have been searching for cute wall decorations but it is still in the works. We just painted one of his walls blue and we ordered a palm tree with a monkey hanging out of it to put on it. we ordered the Zanzibar jungle bedding, lamp, and hamper. I hope it turns out as cute as it is in my head. Wink

Kristi, the website everythingbaseballcatalog.com has baseball rugs. My 1st son's nursery was Noah's Ark, then we changed to antique tractors. #2 son's room was vintage baseball, but now he is sharing a room with #1 so we put all the vintage baseball in the playroom because we all loved it so much! #3,our Miss Priss has a shabby chic room.

Kristi, check at Target too they also have baseball stuff for kids rooms. With #1 we did vintage bunnies and teddy bears the bedding was a solid tan color and we painted the walls and added some stuffed bunnies and teddy bears. When #2 came along since it was another boy we just recycle the bedding, but painted his room a different color and added a border. With #3 when we found out it was a girl, then my DH said that he wanted her room to be elegant so elegant I made it. I went to Baby Bundles and had them specially make her bedding, it is green and cream toile with the ties and the top of the bumper pads being the green with pink polka dots and in the middle of her bumper pad I had her initials monogrammed. Her dust ruffle is the toile and it is long and flowy(sp?). I painted her room green and the wall that her bed is on I stenciled the pink polka dots. Now that we have sold our house and are moving I don't think that I am going to do all that again.

With my #1 we did John Deere Tractors. At that time it was harder to find the john deere decor so my mom had to make his bedding from some john deere fabric we found. I also made some wall hangings and we bought anything John Deere we could find for his room. Now there is John Deere stuff EVERYWHERE!! For my #2 we did international harvestor (Case) tractors, ya know the red ones. There was absolutely no case anything to be found anywhere but Ebay. So I bought the fabric from ebay and my mom made the bedding again and I got some wall hangings and a lamp from ebay also. I was lucky to find some red tractor shower curtain hooks from ABC distributing and I hung those on his tab top curtain rod and it looks really cute. I doubt it will ever happen but if one day in the WAY future we decide to have a #3 we will prob do the Ford (blue) tractors.

We're getting ready to move and my son wants a pirate room. However, I'm trying to stay away from a theme. He changes his mind every time the wind blows. I'm thinking of doing a funky, modern room with bright blues, greens, reds, and oranges. They have some funky furniture at IKEA that I might get for him.

Of course if he freaks out that the new house doesn't have a pirate room I'll probably have to cave in.

Here is a slideshow of Olivia's room. I wanted to do a girly room that she could grow with. I absolutely love the way it turned out. DH made the bookcase, shelf and cornice piece for the curtains so those pieces are very special. I used to have her changing table under the shelf but she outgrew it a few months ago and we put it into storage to free up some space. We ordered a table and chairs over the weekend to place there.

We did Preston's room in raggedy ann and andy. Everything is red, white, blue and tan. We have two big wall decals on one wall. We also have pillows that spell his name on the wall complete with raggedy andy buttons. Everything in his room was made by my mom.

OMG Livismom! What a precious room! I love the colors. I wish I had that kind of vision for my kiddos rooms.

The boys room is sports stuff - and grown up sports stuff. They have a couple of Daniel Moore prints and the cutest baseball print from Target. DH made some spindles for the curtain rod by attaching baseballs to the ends with a dowl - it makes a great touch. The coolest thing by far though is a shelf that runs along one of the walls. It has momentos from their grandfathers and some things from daddy - like his first baseball glove and a homerun ball. They also have their grandfather's flight helmet from when he flew in Vietnam - I absolutely love it. It gives us a chance to tell them great stories about their relatives.

Campbell's room is simple - she has yellow walls and her furniture is a whitewashed/antiqued wicker from Pier 1 - except for her - it is a padded chambray headbord that I made for her. My mom found the cutest quilt that is white with small pastel squares of different colors all over it. I found her some precious sheets on Pottery Barn Kids. She has a little table and chairs that her "Big Daddy" made for her birthday and a little kitchen.

I'll try my hand a slideshow and if I get it I'll post it on here!

Thanks for the tips on the baseball rug, girls. I'll check those places out and let you know what I find.

OMG, LivisMom, that is fantastic! I love the colors. I really like pink and green together and if I have a girl next I think I might go with the same colors.

Distracted, did you post it from photobucket? Are you still having trouble? Take the IMG from photobucket and see if it works.

Boston Girl, ah, another Green Monster in the house. Hehe.

I love this thread!
Post pictures, everyone! I'm dying to see some of these rooms. I'll get one up of Jack's room too once I clean it up a bit. Hehe.

Thanks girls!!!

YES EVERYONE POST PICTURES!!! I love seeing children's rooms.

My Favorite place to get good ideas is www.poshtots.com. Everything is really expensive but alot of the time you can duplicate the stuff. I got the idea for the pictures behind Olivia's crib on that site and then had a friend paint them for me.
