So we moved into our new house last weekend. And we are unpacking stuff we haven't seen in 8 months. It's nice to see our furniture again. However, the last time we had a house Jack was only 6 months old and not crawling or walking. Now as I put my stuff together I am realizing that I can't use certain things because they pose a hazard or will surely end up broken.
For example, a nice stand with a nice vase that used to be in my living room. No more. And our baker's rack in the kitchen...now I have to leave the bottom two shelves empty b/c Jack will surely toss anything I put on there.
It sure is a whole new ballgame. And it's a challenge to try to keep your sense of style and have nice things when a curious toddler is roaming around!!
You are exactly right. It looks like we are about to flee the country with our sense of style. All of our nice stuff is on the mantle! Everything else is vacant!
I agree. I had to move alot of things into our bedroom and office when we moved in October. I left a few things out like the lamp sitting on the book on our end table. It is a small lamp, and I am using it to try and (for lack of better word) train Ronald not to touch things. He still does sometimes though. He has found a new game recently of pulling the placenmats off the dining room table. The first time he did it, there was a plate full of food on it (it was dinnertime). Needless to say we are much more careful now not to put anything on the table he can reach.
