Niki, I think there is officially no nap time in the school day anymore, but the K teachers at Verner that I know of have a short rest time where the ones who need a nap get it, but then they phase it out by second semester.
Really? It must depend on the teacher. When my son was in kindergarten two years ago, we had one there until Christmas but then took it home then and they stopped napping completely. Are you going to be with the same teacher this year as last year? If so, you might end up taking it home again. Maybe you should wait until the meet and greet thing, which I assume we'll have again this year, to see about the mat.
No he'll have a different teacher. But yup sounds like I will just have to wait.
But hey I just thought about this. his teacher also told us that Verner was the last school to take out their naps and playtime, but that the year before was the last year they could get away with it. So last year was the 1st year they could no longer let them have a rest time.

What, no naps or playtime in Kindergarten? I think all we did was play back when I was in K. (Maybe that's whe we needed the naps) Of course we did learn to count, read, and the other general stuff... but mostly I just remember playing and having fun.
