What fun ways have you all celebrated your lo's first birthday? Ben's is coming up and I'm trying to decide how to celebrate. Someone mentioned the Barnyard, though I don't know any of the details (where, what, etc.). Anyone been there?
I think we had a similar thread a while back, but I couldn't find it. So, sorry if this is a duplicate post. Thanks! |

Oh, how exciting!
Look under Activities - there are 2 threads about first birthday parties in there. We did a Red Sox theme and rented out the club house of the apartment complex we used to live in. Family traveled in and my mom cooked an Italian feast. It was a good time. I've listed the Barnyard on the calendar if you want some basic details about it. Look under Fridays b/c that's when it is open to the public. Also, I believe some moms talked about it in those threads. HTH! ![]() |

For Ronalds, we did it at our house. I did a "1" theme with pooh (I know kind of corny, but it was cute, LOL), and I baked him a cake shaped like the number 1. I also did him a small cake I iced directly on the removable tray on his highchair (which worked out wonderfully-removed the tray and washed-Viola!). I hung streamers and balloons throughout my living room, dining room, and kitchen. We just served snack foods, and had the party from 2-4 (between meals). We decided to invite just family, and had it at our house b/c I knew Ronald wouldn't remember anything, and I figured it would be easier for me to set up and clean up at my house versus somewhere else.
