I am getting really desperate!!! lol
My munchins 6th bday is in almost 2 weeks and I can't figure out what to do!!!!!
We did the fun factory last year and we def do not want to do it at our house.
Anybody know of any good parks to have it at or anywhere other than chom, fun factory, or the barnyard?
I haven't been able to find much else other than paintball and I think they are still a little too young for that.

We've always had our b'day parties (small) at home, but we've been to a lot of other people's parties, so I can speak from that experience. Kids always have fun at CHOM, and my son (who is 7) has been to two parties at Bailey's Tae Kwon Do, and he loved that. I think ALl Fired Up does parties - they make pottery and paint it and stuff.

Lake Lurleen has a great camping site(s). They also have fishing piers, hiking trails, playgrounds, and a swimming beach.

My cousin had a camping bday at about that age at Moundville. It turned into a big family event and one of the best bday parties ever, although it wasn't very "partyish". We circled the wagons: one camper and about 5 tents, and built a nice campfire and cooked a lot of hotdogs and smores. Then the grown-ups got the idea to go get ribs and steaks and other grown-up food. You might even be able to call them to see if they can gather up some wood for you. Who knows, there might be a freshly fallen tree they need to cut up??? We had so much fun, we ended up staying 2 nights. They have a nice campground but the bathrooms were in terrrible condition. Maybe they've been updated. Not so much in that they weren't clean, but just old--peeling paint, etc. The showers...well, I wouldn't suggest them. Better than going in the woods, though. Also, it is a great place to take the bicycles.

I love camping! Both DH and I grew up camping and we want to camp with Jack. Thanks for the info.
That sounds fun -- a camping party!

Talking about camping makes me want to go again. I do have a huge tent that I have never used other than for a bday party sleep over my son had in the back yard once... another idea. At the time of the Moundville party, my son(around age 6 at the time) and I slept in a play tent. It was REAL comfy LOL(and inspiration for me to go buy the big one)! I couldn't even stretch out all the way. Fortunately, my aunt had room in the camper for my daughter.

We played a dirty trick on the boys the night they camped in the back yard. About 30 min after they all were in the tent and ready to sleep, we played a scary Halloween tape (a lot of howling). In about 10 seconds, every one of them was in the house going "Did you hear that?" It was so mean... but oh soooo funny! Shame on me!

We are thinking about camping at Moundville. Do you know if we would need to reserve a spot or do we just show up?
Also are you talking about at the Indian thingie? lol

I think you have to call ahead to reserve a spot. I doubt that it would be overflowing with campers, though. It it likely that you will have the campground all to yourself. They lock the gates to the park at 9pm. And, yes, it is at the Indian thingie. LOL

It has been several years since I camped there, so I would suggest checking it out before actually planning the party...
