Speaking of books ... all the controversy got me interested in the Phillip Pullman series (the golden compass books). I'm halfway through book two right now, and they are pretty good reads so far!
Jennifer Mom to Anabelle: 3/20/04 Mom to Amelia: 12/20/06 Bitsy the greyhound ... our first baby, and forever in our hearts
I was in a great book club in Tallahassee. We took turns hosting it our houses...sometimes we had it at a coffee house or restaurant. We usually had snacks and wine, too! We met once a month. The person hosting that month usually led the discussion. We chose books as a group...alternated between fiction and nonfiction.
OK ladies. Let's get organized! There are 7 of us right now and that's a good number. I'm sure some other moms will join in.
What is a good day to get together to discuss? Choose one: Weekday. Weekday night. Weekend day. Weekend night.
Perhaps we can just make it the same day each month (for example, the last Sunday of every month).
We're meeting at: someone's house? Or a public place? Please vote.
Once you ladies respond, I'll throw some dates out in Feb. Maybe the end of Feb to give us some extra time and allow for other women to join in this month?
And I will soon list some books to choose from. I'll try to pick a variety. And then we can vote.
Sound good? All right then....bring on the feedback!!
I want a Tuesday or Wednesday evening (because those are my husband's days off!), though if we can bring our kids I can really do it anytime (but I really don't know how I could have an in-depth conversation about ANYTHING - much less books - with my toddler running around ...) and I think it should be somewhere public so it's easier for everyone to find.

I would prefer to do it on a weekend day or night, due to the fact that I have to get up at 4 am for work during the week. And I am also in a bowling league thats on Tuesday nights. I also would prefer a public place bc it is easier to find.
I agree with having it the same time every month is a great idea, and having it in a public place is fine, too.
As far as the day....Tues or Wed night works well for me, too. My husband also has Wednesdays off (maybe that's a good day for an afternoon matinee!). If we have it on a weekend, should we do Sunday afternoons? That might work best with travel and family weekend plans.
