Great meeting, ladies! It was nice getting together with all of you "offline." LOL

We talked a bit about Atonement but more about getting a plan together for future meetings and books. And, OK, there was plenty of chit chat as well. LOL. I guess I got off easy as the "leader" this time. LOL

Oh, and thanks for stopping by FunnyMummy! Glad to see you and meet your adorable LO in the flesh! Smiler

So for those who couldn't make it, here's the game plan.

--the next book is Life of Pi by Yann Martel. Check out the "second book" thread to see a description. Pick it up and join us next time!

--A different member will lead each meeting and bring discussion points to keep us talking. Next up is ....drum roll please....MOOZLE!

--The first half of each meeting will be book talk and the second half will be choosing the next book and social time

--At each meeting we'll bring ideas for the next book and take a vote as to what the next book will be

--We will meet every 6th Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. at a place to be determined. Next meeting will be at Panera again (pastries...yum yum)

Um...am I missing anything, ladies?
Hope to see even more of you next time!

Thanks, Kristi

Too bad I didn't read the book and properly join the meeting. Next time for sure.

LO and I needed to go eat, so I purposefully went there around 5:30 with him (then to B&N) so that we would be done but still have time to say hi to you guys. He was getting tired by the time we made it back in there. It was the first time he ate out with me as a "big boy". He sat across the table-for-two from me in a big boy chair. Although, I had to pull the chair around to the side for the last 10 min or so b/c he was getting antsy and wanting to get up. It was definitely a proud mama moment.

Anyway, looked like you guys were having a good time. See you in 6 weeks!

It was great getting to meet you FM!! I am glad you stopped by!

BTW...it is funny how similar our LO are in appearance. Your LO is still a bit bigger and older, but they both have that blond hair and blue eyes. Ronald's pic is in the Babypalooza pics. He is the one drinking from his cup in the stroller.

We had a great time, and I am looking forward for you getting to be there with us next time!

Ronanldsmom, they do have some similiarities! Ronald's hair looks to be a lot thicker. I finally had to cut my LO's hair. It was like he had 2 layers... a long baby layer and short newer hair. It was a do-it-yourself job. Now, everytime he sees the scissors he says "sit still".

If I am in town, I will certainly be there next time.

I loved getting a chance to meet everyone in the flesh too! I was telling hubby that the conversation just flowed like we were all old friends.
I can't wait for the next meeting and hopefully we'll have new friends there to discuss the book with!

That's cute about the scissors. My LO is at the point every time I say let's put on your shoes, he starts waving and saying bye, no matter whether we are at home alone or at the store.

Ya know, Ronald was born with thick hair. Had a head full of it. It grew down to his nose when he turned a year old. DH wouldn't let me cut it till then, he said it was bad luck if I did. I have had to cute it 2x since, and he needs another one now. Although I am not brave enough to even try to do it myself, even though I cut DH's hair.

I am glad you liked the book. Just sorry you have already read it. But it makes me want to read it even more.

LOL
And I think it might be GoodGolly's birthday??

Perhaps we should bump it up to Wednesday June 4? Make it 5 weeks.
I think we should shoot for having a meeting every 4-6 weeks.
All the ladies who were there last night (and the ladies who want to come next time too!), can you make it June 4th? If so, I'll post that as the next meeting date.

June 4th it is! And very close on my birthday Kristi - it's actually the 12th - but I'm impressed that you remembered.
I'm marking it on my calendar now!

Well, since my birthday is the 3rd, I remembered it was like a week later! So I will be fresh off the age change at this meeting. I might need a drink! LOL
