We finally have a great routine down. We come home - play outside for a few minutes while I'm getting dinner together - then we eat - take baths - either read a story or watch one Noggin show - and then it's off to bed! They are usually tucked away by 8:00/8:30.
Now there are some nights that the timing is different if we have something going on - but it's still the same bath/story-show/bed routine so they know what's coming.

We've had a pretty set routine since my LO was born, and it's pretty much the same even now. We have dinner (with music! Usually Kindermusic-type stuff but often the 'Oh Brother' or 'Curious George' soundtrack or some other adult- but- appropriate cd), then bath, two stories and some quiet playtime. After about 30 minutes of that, we brush his teeth and he goes to bed. And that's usually by 7:30 these days, because he just recently gave up naps.
My oldest son is 18, though, and he never had a set routine for anything. We were a chaotic mess back then!

We don't have the exact same routine every day between coming home and bath, but once we hit bathtime the routine is always the same.
Bath, teeth, potty, pajamas.
Then we all go to Amelia's room and read her 3 books, sing her songs (the same three we have always sung anabelle), and put her to bed. This is at 7 most nights.
Then, we go to Anabelle's room. Anabelle gets 3 books, then her songs, then she goes to bed. Supposed to be 7:30, but she tries to drag it out FOREVER.

We do pajamas, teeth, books and bed. And before all that a bath every other night. Sometimes I'll do his bath during the day. I've heard it helps them relax so I try to do it at night. But by the time DH gets home from work and we eat and he wants to hang out with daddy...sometimes I'm glad I did bathtime during the day so Jack gets more daddy time at night. Tho sometimes DH does bath. So...we vary the bath routine a bit.
Jack loves his books and I love the way he sits so quiet and attentive in my lap in the rocking chair while we read them.
Speaking of babies and books - my LO's has a few that have been his favorites for years, and he's heard them so many times that he often "reads" them to us these days! It's so funny & cute.

Hmmmmmmm - we come home from school/work and grab a bucket of chicken and a 6-pack. Once home, we mow down the food and grog and around 7:30 they pass out on the floor and I clean them up with a wipe!
Ha - made ya look! Just kidding. We do the same as everyone else! Pretty normal stuff.
Dinner at around 6:30, then DH gives her a bath and puts on PJ's, Playtime until around 8:00-8:30, she gets a sippy cup of milk and then I put her in her crib to watch her aquarium until she falls asleep.
