I have a confession to make: I am in love with Matt Damon. It's OK. My husband knows. LOL. OK, so I'm not really in love with him. But I like him a lot. Hee hee. We all have that one movie star we think is so incredibly adorable, don't we? My DH and I laugh over it. It's harmless.
But back to why I'm posting this. Matt Damon's mom is an advocate for keeping violent media away from children. She doesn't like how movie companies allow violent toys sold to children as promotion. Matt has tried to fight this as well (now I like him even more ). She openly says she doesn't approve of some of the content of Matt's films. This is an interesting read if you are a fan of the Damons and if you are concerned about these issues. As a bonus, this reporter interviewed Matt too (yay!). LOL
My star love is, ok you are all going to laugh, but it is Patrick Swayze . The Patrick in Dirty Dancing. Very corny I know, but I can't help it. But Matt Damon runs a very close second. My DH laughs at me too. He finds it funny.
That is great that they are such advocates for such a good cause. If I am honest, I hadn't even thought about this issue. Probably cause my LO is too little to be watching tv. He only catches glimpses if we are watching something like Dancing w/ the Stars. He is still not interested in tv. It raises a good point, can we blame the elevated child violence stats on tv violence? I don't know. But I am pretty sure that tv plays a big role in children learning violent behavior. I wonder if there are any tv channels that purposfully(spelling?) block any violent comercials or programs?

Ok, now I know that becoming a mother takes up alot of time, but I never thought I would be so busy as to not hear about Swayze having cancer. Do u know what kind? That is just terrible.
