We are currently in the process of deciding whether or not to look for a new church. The one we currently attend has no young adult class, and no sunday school classes for children. We are trying to find something that has classes geared towards people close to our age (27), and something for Preston. Does any one have any suggestions?

What denomination are you? We've been visiting Englewood Baptist Church for a while and I really like it. We have only been to Sunday school once there though and I think we went to the wrong class because everyone in it was a lot older than us. Anyway, I'd like to start putting Will in the nursery so we can start going to Sunday school. There are a lot of couples around our age (I'm 26 & DH is 31) and a ton of babies and small children.

My DH grew up Baptist, and I grew up Presbyterian. We might try going there sometime soon. That is the problem with where we go now....There are two babies in the nursery, and in both Sunday School classes everyone is way older than we are, and they talk about stuff that happened like 30 and 40 years ago...lol We might give Englewood a try sometime...I will let you know if we do.

I have been going to University Church of Christ for awhile now and I absolutely LOVE it. There are alot of babies and toddlers and kids of all ages. They have wonderful Sunday School classes and their nursery is super clean, they have a nursery for babies, nursery and bible study for toddlers and a childrens church and bible study for 2 yrs thru pre k and then the regular bible classes for kindergarten and so forth. They even have preschool for kids that has to be in day care during the week. We have bible study classes for all ages and I am in the young adult class and I love it. I am also involved with a small group and they are like a family to me, it is nice to get together with people your age and let all of the kids play while you do a bible study on Sunday evenings. It is easy to be very involved with my church, we got alot going on and my boys have so much fun going to church events, they have learned so much about God and I am very proud to be a member there. You, or anyone, is very welcome to come visit if you would like to. Website of Universitycofc.org if you need times and directions.

I would like to find a church that fits both my husband and I but I guess I have yet to come across one yet. I grew up Baptist but I like the Nondenominational churhces I've been too. He grew up Catholic and can't speak English very well so it's difficult. Neither of us are particularly comfortable around large crowds either so I don't know.
As my daughter gets older though, I really would like to find a church that would kind of cater to the both of us and to have my daughter involved in church.

Mama2Princesa, there are several churches here that offer Spanish-language services and Sunday school classes. I'm making an assumption here - based on your forum name and the fact that you said your husband grew up Catholic, so forgive me if Spanish is not his first language. If it it, the churches that I know of off the top of my head that offer special services in Spanish are Holy Spirit Catholic Church, First Wesleyan, Daystar, First Baptist. I'm sure there are more, but those are ones I know of, if any of those fit with y'all's denomination preferences.

We are members of Big Sandy United Methodist. We have Sunday School for children and toddlers, and we are revamping our adult classes. Our church is growing, we have a great young pastor who has been here a year. We switched from a larger church and just love it! We are on 69 South right before the large auction company. We would love for anyone to come visit us.

We attend Northport Baptist. We have been there 2 years December. And we LOVE it. There are so many different Sunday school classes, it would be hard to tell you about each one. No matter what age, or married or not, each and every door is always open. We have several nurserys Sunday mornings(3 I think). When the kids are 2 they attend Sunday school just like us. Then during Sunday service, we have a 2-3 y/o, 4-K, and 1st-5th Worship Kids Style. They are so much fun. I volunteer to go in 1 Sunday a month to help, its so much fun for the kids and the volunteers. On Wednesday nights we have Family Supper and then M&M's(Music and Missions). I am one of 4 teachers for our Little Praisers Choir(18months-3yrs). Then they go to Handbell Choir and then onto Childrens Choir in 1st grade. Our missions are also age and grade based. The teachers in their are amazing. We also offer Awana's for 3 yrs-5th grade, Upward Basketball and Cheer as well as Youth and College activities. Oh and for you musicaly inclined adults we have a HUGE choir and an orchestra(member of both of those too, hehehe). As you can tell, we really do LOVE where we are at. If you ever want to visit, stop in we have ushers that will greet you at the door and help you find where you want to be!

You can try Daystar, That's where I go.. There are spanish language services and services geared for children as well.

Leet me think....

There is Baby church ( newborn to 2 years)
Kids Church ( 3-5, I think)
Amp ( 5-10, I think.)

I work in baby Church and My oldest is in kids church. so I don't really know the specifics for children older than that. In Baby church, we read bible stories to the children even newborns and try to explain to them the story. And in Kids church my DD always comes back with a new bible lesson that she has learned that day.

But there is always someone to help you around for that information as well.

If you would like more info.

Our website is

Sorry to flood you with so much information

We go to Fleetwood Baptist. Depending on where you live, it could be a bit of a drive, but well worth it. There are all kinds of activities for kids and families with a wide age range. On the last sunday of the month, there is no night service because that is family night. The website really doesnt give a whole lot of information, but it might help you out some.
