Can anyone relate? We did a birthday party theme (Red Sox) and have a Jack web site so our families can keep up with him. We travel a lot with him too. Other than that....I guess we're not that trendy. LOL

I am way cooler than I thought! Smiler

-We used a family name as a first name (Campbell)
-No pastels in Mason's nursery - probably
because he's shacking up in his brother's
sports themed room - and even that's not
cutesy
-They travel with us - and we try to plan trips
with family so they have cousins to play with
-I had showers for all three of mine - I work
with the greatest people - I swear!
-I had a golf themed party for Jonah's 1st - we
celebrated his "Hole in One"
-Push Present - I've never gotten anything fancy
but DH always gets their sillouettes for my
charm bracelet and has them engraved. They
also each have a special charm that signifies
their personality
-Discipline - I would like to think that I tread
that line between best friend and mother
pretty well.

-Baby names, we didn't want a traditional name for our daughter, we wanted something feminine and ''exotic''. . .Naudia Mikayla

-Sophisticated nurseries, Hers has antique Chinese horse art on the wall, dark pink up to her dark stained chair rail, cherry hard wood floors, her bedding is satin & fuxe suede. . .

-Family travel, I NEVER leave her at home. She comes on every trip

-Baby showers after the first, I always thought that was a great idea

-Baby web sites, Naudia has her own myspace

-Birthday party themes, still thinking of what her theme should be. She loves animals and watching her daddy play his drums

-Saying no to spoiled kids, well she is only
6 months but she is a brat. She trys to take her friend's paci out of her mouth and she yanks the toys out of her hands. . . she gets a smack on her hand and told "NO, that's not nice!" every time she does

I'd say I'm pretty trendy and didn't even know it!

We have a website for Preston, so family and friends can keep up, and everywhere we go he goes. As for his name...we wanted something different that not too many people have, and for his nursery, my parents went all out...it is done in Raggedy Ann and Andy...my mom made everything, no pastel colors, everything is red, white, blue and tan. We have not had a birthday party yet...However does being born on New Year's day count as a theme...lol. We have not even thought about his first birthday party. I did not get a push present, and as for discipline, we tend to say no when does something he is not supposed to do.

Isn't it interesting that we supposedly "say no" to "spoiled kids" yet think it's fine to expect jewelry for giving birth & to be showered with gifts for every kid we have?
Just think that's kinda strange, myself.
